She was born May 7, 1904, in the town of Cady, St. Croix County, the daughter of John and Gusta (Olson) Lunde. She was raised in rural Woodville and attended Cady School until the eighth grade, when she could no longer attend because of health reasons. On Oct. 31, 1925, in Woodville, she was married to Hobart A. Norvold. The couple lived and raised their children in Hudson. She was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church and had worked for many years as a clerk in Olson’s Department Store in Hudson. Surviving are two sons, Howard D. (Joyce) Norvold of Woodville and Florida, and Robert J. Norvold of Hudson; two daughters, Donna I. (Richard G.) Mueller and Irene M. Norvold, both of Hudson; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Preceding her in death were her two husbands, Hobart Norvold in 1945 and Rufus St. Ores in 1957; a grandson, James, in 1996; and a great-grandson, Michael. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson with Pastor Joanne Sorenson officiating. Organist Layton James accompanied congregational singing. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was in the Lone Pine Cemetery in Woodville where grandchildren Peter Norvold, Mark Norvold, Paul Norvold, Scott Mueller, Bruce Mueller and Jonathan Mueller served as casketbearers. Memorials are suggested to charities of the donor’s choice.
