Petrell, 76 Friday, October 08, 2004 Philip H. Petrell, 76, of Hudson, and formerly of Embarrass, Minn., and Show Low, Ariz., died Thursday, Sept. 30, at his home. He was born July 14, 1928, in Chicago, the son of Henry J. and Siiri (Levander) Petrell. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a member of the Strategic Air Command. On Nov. 2, 1963, in Grand Forks, N. D., he married Donna Graham. A Hudson resident since 2001, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He enjoyed traveling to national parks in the United States and was also an avid woodworker, gardener and outdoorsman. Survivors are his wife, Donna; a daughter, Janet (Daniel Welch) Petrell of Hudson; stepdaughters, Royann (Sylvain Alee) Petrell of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, and Christine (James) Petrell-Kallevig of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Melanie (Petrell) Sokoloski, Annette Petrell, David and Paul Kallevig; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Sokoloski and Kelly Petrell; two sisters, Milma Naeseth of Madison and Olivia Kissin of Spokane, Wash.; and two brothers, Wilfred (Ursula) Petrell and Edgar Petrell, both of Embarrass. Preceding him in death were his parents; a stepson, Graham; three sisters, Ruth Petrell, Martha Kaupp, Helen McElderry; and a brother, Roy. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.
