Mary Steiner, 83 Friday, July 02, 2004 B. Mary Steiner, 83, of Stillwater, formerly of Hudson, died Tuesday, June 22, in the Linden Healthcare Center in Stillwater. She was born in Jackson, Minn., May 16, 1921, the daughter of Harold and Lucy (Fairbairn) Goff. She began her schooling in Robbinsdale, Minn., and continued at the Fisher country school and Ellsworth High School after her family moved to Ellsworth. On May 27, 1938, in Excelsior, Minn., she was married to Sylvester “Sal” Steiner. She was employed by the former Tri-County Savings and Loan (now First Federal) and the city of Hudson at the City Hall and the A.B. Dick Company doing bookkeeping and secretarial work. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing, reading, playing cards and bird watching and also volunteered at the Phipps Center for the Arts and Hudson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson and a former member of the Hudson Golf Club. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Mary (Steiner) Cameron, and a son, Robert LeRoy (Judy) Steiner, both of Hudson; four grandchildren, Scott Cameron and Catherine Cameron, both of Hudson, Chad R. (Jennifer) Steiner of North Hudson and Robert M. “Bobby” (Kathleen) Steiner of Chantilly, Va.; a granddaughter-in-law, Jami Steiner of North Hudson; and five great-grandchildren, CJ, Alivia and Payton Steiner, Connor Cameron and Cole Ober. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Sylvester (Sal), in 1982; a sister, Lucille; a grandson, Christopher Steiner, in 2002; and a great-grandson, Gabriel Steiner, in 1999. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson with Pastor Joanne Sorenson officiating. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service Friday in the church. Burial was in the Willow River Cemetery, where casketbearers were Scott Cameron, Chad Steiner, Bobby Steiner, Gary D. Cameron, Gary Mountain and Bill Johannsen.
