She was born May 29, 1911, in Bainville, Mont., the daughter of Franklin P. and Susan J. (Fisher) Guiswite. She attended Hudson schools and was a 1929 graduate of Hudson High School. On Sept. 3, 1932, she was married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson to Elden Orval Solsvig. She and her husband owned and operated the Solsvig Food Market in North Hudson from the 1950s to the early 1970s. After the market was sold she was a clerk at Micklesen’s Drug Store in Hudson. She enjoyed reading romance novels, dogs and kittens, vacations, her grandchildren, horses and fishing with her husband. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Elden, in July 1977; and an infant daughter, Valerie, who died at birth. Surviving are a daughter, Janet (Solsvig) Laatsch of Clearwater, Fla.; a son, George E. Solsvig of New Richmond; 11 grandchildren, Marilyn (Chris) Laatsch-Markham, Mark (Lisa) Laatsch, Nancy (Jay) Laatsch-Vandersalm, David (Eileen) Laatsch, Steve (Janet) Foster, Cindy Foster, Mick (Betsy) Foster, Tim Foster, Christine Solsvig, Susan Solsvig-Germain and Jenni (Luke) Solsvig-Seiler; 19 great-grandchildren, Justin Solsvig, Laura Markham, Mathew and Daniel Laatsch, Christy Vandersalm, Jacob Laatsch, Steve and Mandy Foster, Angel Maack, Archie Montpetit, Emmitt and Mitchell Foster, Marshall and Brenna Foster, Sharisse, Billie Jo and Heidi Germain, Logan and Lilly Seiler; two great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Gabby Maack; and a sister, Merese (Robert) Millard of Sun City, Fla. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Tim Booth officiating. Visitation was from noon until the 2 p.m. service.
