Clingenpeel, 80 Friday, October 08, 2004 Glenn J. Clingenpeel, 80, of Ellsworth died Monday, Sept. 27, at the Spring Valley Health Care Center in Spring Valley. He was born March 12, 1924, in Charter Oaks, Iowa, the son of Lester and Mathilda (Westphalen) Clingenpeel, and during World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 21, 1955, he married Geraldine Feather. For many years, he worked for Armour’s Meats, first in Omaha, Neb., then in South St. Paul, and later retiring from the Armour’s plant in Eau Claire. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine, of Ellsworth; six children, Ronald Clingenpeel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Debbie Blodgett of Hudson, Gordon (Shirley) Clingenpeel of West Salem, Paul Clingenpeel of Rice Lake, Dale (Diane) Clingenpeel of Holmen and Lorri (William) Mattes of Mason; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Verla Mae (Melvin) Boyens of Marion, Iowa. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Richard and Glenn Jr.; a brother, Darrell; and two sisters, Genevieve and Nathalia. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth with the Rev. Harlen Menk officiating. Burial was in the Maiden Rock Cemetery where pallbearers were Joshua Blodgett, William and Bill Mattes and Paul Clingenpeel.
