She was born, Nov. 21, 1936, in Rice Lake, the daughter of Edward J. and Lydia (Carey) Leary, and attended River Falls High School. On Aug. 2, 1980, she was married to Robert Wayne Deans. Survivors are her longtime companion, Robert Mentor of Boyceville; three sons, Robert J. Mullins of Robert Park, Calif., Daniel R. Mullins of Phoenix, Ariz., and Russell D. Mullins of Somerset; a daughter, Lydia Ann Laughlin of Pottsville, Penn.; a brother, Robert Leary of River Falls; a sister-in-law, Rose Leary of River Falls; and six granddaughters. Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Lydia Leary; a brother, Edward “Pat” Leary; and a sister, Wilda Dies. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Cashman Mortuary in River Falls with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
