He was born Nov. 4, 1948, in St. Paul, the son of Raymond L. and Marion P. (Hoel) Deal, and was raised in Hudson, attending Hudson schools. In 1987 he moved to Wisconsin Dells where he worked as a handyman in several places and then was employed at Zinke’s grocery business until he retired because of health problems. He had a great sense of humor, was generous and liked people. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. Survivors include four children, Marlo and Tonya, both of Rice Lake, April of Eagan, Minn., and Richard of Circle Pines, Minn.; seven grandchildren; his mother, Marion Deal of Hudson; a sister, Kim Rae (Kenneth) Dobson of Hammond; two nieces, Angella and Amy; and his former wife, Julie Petersen Deal. Preceding him in death was his father, Raymond L. Deal Sr., in 2001. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Fedderly-Axtell Community Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells, with Father Felix G. Oehrlein officiating.
