She was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Roy H. and Esther (Bergseng) Sakrison. Her father was a banker in both Deer Park and Bayport, Minn., and later a vice president, secretary and board member of the Andersen Corporation in Bayport. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1940 and attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., for two years. On June 27, 1946, in People’s Congregational Church in Bayport, she was married to her high school sweetheart, Richard Atherton Reed. Her husband was a descendant of a warden at the Minnesota State Prison in Stillwater. During her residence in Hudson, she was employed as a teller at the First National Bank of Hudson for 11 years. She also was active in the affairs of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hudson, singing in the choir and serving as longtime treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women and as a diocesan officer. She was a member of the Willow River Owls, Prairie Enthusiasts, St. Croix County Historical Society and the Phipps Center for the Arts. Besides her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, Richard A. (Mary) Reed Jr, of Stillwater; and two daughters, Patricia (Robert) Angleson of Stillwater and Judith Reed of Lake St. Croix Beach, Minn. (Bob Angleson was a former mayor of Hudson in 1990-91); four grandchildren, Eric Reed of Minneapolis, Robert Reed of Reno, Nev., Matthew (Kristin Austrum) Angleson of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Stephanie Angleson of Mason City, Iowa; and a brother, John Gilbert Sakrison of Ballston Lake, N.Y. Preceding her in death were her parents, Roy and Esther Sakrison, and her sister, Patti Ann Sakrison. Private family burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Stillwater. A memorial service is pending in September. The family suggests memorials.
