She was born in Oakland, Calif., Feb. 16, 1947, the daughter of Gene and Carol Paquette. She graduated from high school and nursing school in Superior. On July 22, 1967, in Superior, she married E. Frank Howenstine. The couple has lived in the area since the 1980s and she worked for Chiropractic Family Health Center in River Falls for 18 years. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in River Falls, enjoyed going on mission trips and loved to make greeting cards. Preceding her in death was her father, Gene. Surviving are her husband, E. Frank Howenstine; a daughter, Shelly Howenstine of Pullman, Wash.; her mother, Carol Paquette of Sartell, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Prosecky of Superior. A memorial service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Assembly of God Church in River Falls with the Rev. Mike Becktold officiating. A memorial visitation was Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the church.
