She was born Feb. 3, 1918, the daughter of Robert Lamont and Mabel (Erickson) Seekins, in the town of Lincoln, Polk County. She attended school in Amery and was a 1938 graduate of Amery High School. On Dec. 31, 1946, in Bessemer, Mich., she was married to Robert K. “Jack” Brande. She loved sewing, quilting, crafts, painting by number, going to rummage sales and Bible studies at church. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Hudson, a former Brownie Scout leader and a former member of the North Hudson Bowling League. Surviving are her husband, Robert “Jack” Brande of Hammond; a daughter, Sharon A. (Ken J.) Washick of Hudson; three grandchildren, Yvonne (Ed) Belland of Maple Grove, Minn., Richard (Tammy) Roos of Amery and Rebecca (Scott) Fraser of South Lyon, Mich.; five great- grandchildren, Stephanie and Nicholas Belland, and Joshua, Jessica and Jarica Roos. The funeral service was Saturday, June 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Booth officiating. Organist Debra McPhetres accompanied congregational singing. Visitation was Friday, June 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial was in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson where casketbearers were Ronald Ott, Bill Kotz, Wayne Bonse, Ken Clark, Scott Dardine and Roger Norelius.
