She was born Oct. 7, 1910, in Port Hill, Idaho, the daughter of Ezra and Margaret Isabelle (Cameron) King. She attended schools in Hudson and went to work in St. Paul for Griggs, Copper & Company, a food supplier, as an order taker. During World War II, she worked at the Federal Arms Plan in New Brighton, Minn., as an assembler. In 1948 she was married to Carl M. Simmel in St. Paul. He preceded her in death in April 1981. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.
