He was born in Rice Lake, July 29, 1940, the son of George Arthur and Alice Elizabeth (Klein) Graven, and came with his family to Hudson in 1953. He attended Hudson High School, where he played football. On Aug. 2, 1958, in Stillwater, he was married to Janice Lynn Edison. During his working career he owned and operated water conditioning businesses in both Hudson and North St. Paul, Minn. He and his wife moved to Lindstrom in 1998. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors are his wife, Janice of Lindstrom; two daughters, Terri Lynn (Kim) Halby of Shoreview, Minn., and KrissAnn Louise (Gerald M.) Schmidt of Forest Lake, Minn.; a son, Scott Dean (Debra) Graven of Scandia, Minn.; five grandchildren, Stephen, Christine, Kevin, Alyssa and Sarah; and a brother, George Arthur Jr. (Patricia Ann) Graven of Gordon. The funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
