He attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., and it was there he met his future wife. On Aug. 16 , 1963, in Kirkwood, Mo., he was married to Susan Klenk. After they were married they moved to St. Paul where he started his career in management at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. While in Hudson he was involved in the activities of the Hudson County Club and served several terms on its board of directors. He was appointed in 2003 as a board member of the Wisconsin State Golf Association. Golf was an important part of his life and Stutzman was a state amateur competitor for more than 30 years. David Gray of Hudson, director of course ratings and member services for WSGA, and Dan Loken, head golf pro at the Hudson Golf Club, both had high praise for Stutzman and his promotion of all aspects of golf. His interests were varied. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, training hunting dogs and was a master carpenter. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota women’s basketball team. In his retirement he worked part time at St. Croix Cabinetry in Hudson. Surviving are his wife, Susan; two daughters, Julie (Wade) Halvorson of St. Louis Park, Minn., and Jenny (Kerry) Ojibway of Barneveld; and five grandchildren Cara, Reid, Benjamin, Gabriel and Brenden.
