Wegner, 75 Friday, June 04, 2004 Donald J. Wegner, 75, of Amery, died at his home Monday, May 24. He was born in Brownton, Minn., March 31, 1929. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy. For 42 years he was employed by the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (3M) and was an active volunteer in the Amery community. He spent much of his time assisting friends with their computers, and volunteered his time at the Amery Senior Center. He enjoyed his role in the Lake Wapogasset Association and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Amery. Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret, and son, Donald Jr. Surviving are a daughter, Beth (Philip) Brooksbank of Hudson; a son, Dennis (Amy) Wegner of Oakdale, Minn.; a granddaughter, Ashlee; and two grandsons, Alex and Drew. A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Amery, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
