She was born in Baldwin, May 25, 1926, the daughter of Theodore E. and Rose Moline, and attended school in Baldwin, graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School. On Oct. 28, 1945, in Baldwin, she was married to Earl J. Bates. She had worked in the receiving department for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. She enjoyed traveling, doing daycare and was a member of United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Earl J. Bates; a son, Earl G. “Pete” Bates of Hudson; two daughters, Theodora (James) Stone of Hudson and Penelope (Bruce) Siegersma of Baldwin; three grandchildren, William “BJ” (Shelby) Denzer, Nicholas Siegersma and Janna Stone; and a brother, Theodore G. (Violet) Moline of St. Peter, Minn. A memorial service was Friday, June 11, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson with the Rev.
