She was born in St. Paul, April 6, 1913, the daughter of Peter and Lucia (Meala) Idanza. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Cleveland High School and Rasmussen Business College, all in St. Paul. For several years she was employed in the payroll department of Seeger Refrigeration now the Whirlpool Corporation. On July 9, 1938, she was married to Fred F. Mangine in the St. Ambrose Parish in St. Paul. Recently they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. During World War II, while her husband was in the U.S. Army, she was employed at the Twin Cities Arsenal plant in New Brighton, Minn. While living in St. Paul she was active in the Transfiguration Parish. She and her husband moved to Hudson in 1963 and spent more than 30 years at their home on Cove Road in the town of Troy before moving to the Mont Croix Apartments in Hudson. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and was known for her baking ability. She was the caregiver for her mother until she died in 1970 at the age of 94 years old. Surviving are her husband, Fred F. Mangine; a daughter, Consoline Lucille (James) Brugler of Hudson; a son, Frederick Joseph (Katherine) Mangine of Osceola; three grandchildren, James (Aimee) Brugler of New Richmond, Frederick P. (Jennie) Mangine of Somerset and Karrie (Joseph) Bruns of Mound, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Alecia, Madeline, Emma and Joseph Brugler, Freddie and Bethanie Mangine; a brother-in-law, Albert (Adlyne) Mangine; and three sisters-in-law, Margaret Bielicki and Helen and Eleanor Mangine. Preceding her in death were her parents. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. Peter Szleszinski officiating. Vocalist Michael Manders was accompanied by organist Christopher Hnasko. Visitation was from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial was in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
