He was born, Dec. 8, 1946, in Omaha, Neb., the son of General and Malinda (Lowell) Broadus. He was raised in Kansas City and attended high school and college there. In 1967, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a forklift operator for the Owens and Corning Fiberglass Corp. in the Twin Cities. On May 16, 1997, at the Assembly of God Church in River Falls, he was married to Sadie A. Curtis. He was an avid fisherman. Survivors are his wife, Sadie; a son, Damon Broadus of Kansas City; a stepson, Michael Curtis; and two brothers, Eugene Broadus of Kansas City and Kenneth Broadus of Fresno, Calif. The funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the Assembly of God Church in River Falls with Pastor Mike Brechtold officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
