She was born Aug. 29, 1935, in St. Paul, the daughter of Joseph and Naomi Ryan, and graduated from Monroe High School in 1953 and the University of Minnesota in 1955. On Feb 25, 1961, in St. Paul she was married to Donald G. Olson. In early 1969, the family moved to Hudson, when Donald Olson accepted a position with Erickson Foods. He held his post with the Erickson firm until his retirement in 1988, when the family moved to Florida. Nancy Olson was a longtime employee at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. After her move to Florida she continued to work in the medical field. She enjoyed reading, traveling, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Donald Olson of Cape Coral; two daughters, Christine (John) Zorn of Stillwater and Karen Olson of Woodbury, Minn.; a son, Donald J. “DJ” Olson of Houlton; and two grandchildren, Joe and Liz Zorn. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Simonet Funeral Home in Stillwater.
