(Rudy) Getzie, 70 Friday, September 17, 2004 Glenda L. (Rudy) Getzie, 70 of River Falls died of leukemia Tuesday, Sept. 7, at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, Minn. Preceding her in death were parents, Ted and Emma Rudy, and two brothers, Jim and LeRoy Rudy. She was born in Independence, Dec. 4, 1933, and graduated from Independence High School in 1953. On May, 4, 1954, at the Independence Evangelist Lutheran Church, she was married to Ronald W. Getzie of Chippewa Falls. For 23 years she was a secretary at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Survivors are her husband, Ronald Getzie; three sons, Dennis (Sharon) Getzie of River Falls, Mike (Keri) Getzie of Amery and Terry Getzie of Hammond; a daughter, Cindy (Bob) Fuhrmann of River Falls; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Luther Memorials Church in River Falls with the Rev. Michael Scholz officiating. Cremains will be buried in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.
