He was born in Stanley, Wis., March 12, 1939, the son of Leo and Rossella (Stuttgen) Wald and graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul in 1957. He completed in journeyman machinist apprentice in 1987 and was a member of the Machinists Union AFL-CIO Local 459. From 1960 to 1968 he was a member of the National Guard. He was a member of the ULLR Ski Club, served as its president 1991-92 and was named ULLR of the year in 1998 On Oct 11, 1968, he was married to Carol Juaire and they were later divorced. His second marriage on July 26, 1991 was to Dottie (Stebbins) Farrar. Preceding him in death were his parents. Surviving are his wife, Dottie and her three children, Cindy (Craig) Treptow of Lake City, Minn., Tammy (David) Willner of Caddo Mills, Texas, and Brett (Angela) Farrar of Rowlette City, Texas; the children of his first wife, Carol: Todd, Wayne and Bonnie Juaire; three brothers, Tom (Ann) Wald of Oakdale, Minn., Dave (Carol) Wald of Lake St. Croix Beach, Minn., and Frank Wald of Woodbury, Minn.; two sisters, Sally (Roy) Dick of Woodbury and Lou Ann (Mark) Minea of Cottage Grove, Minn., and eight grandchildren. The funeral service was at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 8 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale with Fr. Bill Marten officiating. Visitation was at the church from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, prior to the service.
