Licht, 85 Sept. 9, 1917 - July 17, 2003 Arthur C. Licht of Hammond died Thursday, July 17 at his home. He was born the son of William and Louise (Lechner) Licht on Sept. 9, 1917 in Boyd. He attended Boyd Catholic School. In 1947 he married Agnes Mahal. His hobby was wood working. He made furniture, lawn ornaments, and toys. He served in the Army during World War II as a Tech Sergeant in the medical department for 45 months. Arthur is survived by his wife Agnes; daughter Alice (Ken) Smith of New Richmond; son Arnold (Melodie) Licht of Lino Lakes, Minn.; grandchildren, Tamara Smith, Kathy Licht, Karen (Nick) Cleveland, Amanda (Rommy) Barghout, Beth Licht, Brandon Licht, Troy Smith and Jason (Katie) Decker; great-granddaughter, Shelby; brothers, Herman Licht of Thorp, Harvey (Florian) Licht of Boyd, Gerald Licht of Medford, Ore.; sister, Lorraine Spaeth of Cadott; and many more relatives and friends. Preceding Arthur in death are his parents; son, Arthur Licht, Jr.; and brothers, Ray Licht and Bob Licht. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 12 p.m. Saturday, July 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hammond. The service was officiated by Father William Murphy, and the music was provided by Mary Cody and Sue Hawkins. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tamara Smith, Kathy Licht, Karen Cleveland, Amanda Barghout, Beth Licht, and Brandon Licht.
