Hello, I have a question about a township. I can not tell where a piece of land is located at. I am looking for Township 27 Range 15 Section 18 S 1/2 of SE 1/4. The property was for Menander Hooker from 1865-1871 that I know of. I have never been able to located him or the property in the 1870 census. The BLM record states two witnesses stated he settled and improved the land. The Land office mentioned is Falls St. Croix Wis but I always find him listed as of Pierce. Is is possible this piece of land is on the connecting county lines? I also tried to locate on the internet the witnesses thinking if they were neighbors in the same area but with no luck, they were Rufus Preston and George Lynch. Any help would be great.
