Nelsen, 89 Helen H. Nelsen, 89, of Hudson died Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. She was born Aug 28, 1913, in Chicago, the daughter of Valentine and Anna (Peska) Horabik, and was raised in Chicago, where she attended school. Later she attended night school and bookkeeping classes. On Dec. 31, 1935, she was married to Clarence Nelsen at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Chicago. For 28 years she worked as a bookkeeper for the Montgomery Ward Company. Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing and watching her favorite television shows. Preceding her in death was her husband, Clarence Nelsen, on July 10, 1964. Survivors are her son, Ralph (Marjorie) Nelsen of Hudson; three grandchildren, Marilyn (Joe) Jaskot of Thorp, Kathy Nelsen of St. Francis and Gary Nelsen of San Jose, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Jason Jaskot and Jennifer Jaskot; two sisters, Mrs. Clem (Toni) Bartkowski of Portage, Ind., and Mrs. Edward (Frances) Niedzwiedz of Chicago; and a brother, Walter Horabik of Chicago. Graveside funeral services will be at a later date at Mount Olive Cemetery in Chicago. Memorials are preferred.
