She was born in Stanton Township Oct. 7, 1905 to Samuel “Ben” and Ella (Schumucher) Sette. Ema was the oldest of five children. She graduated from New Richmond High School, took a teacher’s training course and taught at the Wall Street School for three years. >From there Ema went on to the Bank of New Richmond, now S&C, where she stayed for 45 years. She began her career with the bank in the summer of 1926 as a general bookkeeper. She also served as teller and stenographer and after the death of Charles H. Sperbeck, assumed the position of cashier in 1952. Ema retired March 15, 1971. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one infant brother, another brother Merton, sister Anita TeGrootenhuis and one niece Claire Harmon. Ema is survived by her brother Ralph (Doris) Sette of New Richmond, niece Barbara (Robert) Dempsey and nephew Gary Sette, both of Milwaukee. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 23 at the United Methodist Church in New Richmond with Rev. Alan George officiating. Music was provided by Mary Barney. Casketbearers were Wayne Tubbs, James Gretz, Harlan Vehrs, Roger Vehrs, Allan Vehrs, and Richard Kruschke. Burial was in the New Richmond Cemetery.
