Marlett Glen died unexpectedly at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. on July 9, 2003. His wife Marlene; daughter Sherry Charette; and grandson Eric Gibson survive him. He grew up in Boyceville and during his high school years worked for a small weekly newspaper. In 1951 he enlisted in the Army where he served in Psychological and Warfare Propaganda. After service he was hired at the Daily Tribune in Hibbing, Minn. He married in 1954 to Marlene Stone. On Jan. 1, 1956 the family moved to New Richmond where he worked at Dairyland Press, an in-house print shop for Doughboy. In 1971, Glen and three other employees bought the operation and reorganized it as an independent corporation forming St. Croix Press, Inc. In 1973, Parkwood Composition was formed, as a subsidiary of St. Croix Press. Glen was president of Parkwood Composition Services and Vice President of St. Croix Press until his retirement in June 2000. After retirement, Glen and his wife moved to North Port, Fla., spending the summers back in Wisconsin at his favorite place, Cedar Lake.
