Christianson, 80 Oct. 10, 1922 - Aug. 5, 2003 Rose I. Christianson (nee Hawkins) of West Bend died surrounded by her loving sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend. Rose was born Oct. 10, 1922 in New Richmond to the late Elmer and Nellie (nee Gallagher) Hawkins. After graduation from New Richmond High School, she married her high school sweetheart Gordon H. Christianson on June 27, 1942 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond. After raising her family in New Richmond, she lived for many years in Beaverton, Ore. before moving to West Bend to be nearer her family. Rose is survived by four sons, Gary (Karen) of West Bend, David (Lynn) of Conyers, Ga., Thomas (Maryann) of Portage, and James (Marie) of Apple Valley, Minn.; 10 grandchildren: Mathew, Sarah, Jennifer, Emily, Jason, Jacquelyn, Jamie, Andrew and Kathyrn; as well as one great-grandchild Lucy, due to be born in November. She is further survived by cousins and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gordon on February 20, 1973; her parents; and her twin sisters, Mary and Margaret. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend with Rev. Jeffrey Haines presiding. Inurnment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, at the church. Masses or memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Church or Cedar Community are appreciated.
