He was born in Randall, Minn. on Nov. 21, 1924 to Ernest and Martha (Thurman) Meyer. Robert married Lois Jean Wendland on July 28, 1951 in Little Falls, Minn. and together they raised five children. Robert was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and retired from the army after four enlists and 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Fred Meyer; two sisters, Lillian Turnquist and Lucille Hayes; and one grandson, Phillippe Hoogheem. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois; three sons, Robert (Gail) Meyer, Jr., Steven (Jean) Meyer, Richard Meyer; two daughters, Sherry (Burt) Kulzer, Cynthia (Dave Walitshek) Meyer; three sisters, Doris Larkin, Arlene Wermter, Lois Tuttle; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services were held Monday at Beebe Mortuary with Pastor Paul Mai officiating. Special music was provided by Robert’s son-in-law, Burt Kulzer. Pallbearers were Eric Meyer, Jason Meyer, Addam Hoogheem, Arlen Kulzer, Arlen Turnquist, and Keith Turnquist. Military honors were provided by New Richmond American Legion Post 80. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
