Teigen, 57 Leland B. Teigen, 57, of Glenwood City died Tuesday, Dec. 3, at his home, where he stayed with hospice assisting. He was born Dec. 17, 1944, in Menomonie, the son of Ingvold and Olga (Borgen) Teigen. He worked on construction and later was employed by the city of St. Paul. He was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 132. One of his pet projects was remodeling and restoring the century-old buildings on his ancestral hobby farm, where he cared for and drove his horses. On Sept. 5, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Peggy Knowlton. Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Dorothy "Brenda" Gentz, who died in 1970; a stepson, Nicholas Marty; and a nephew. Survivors are his wife, Peggy Teigen of Glenwood City; two stepchildren, John (Melinda) Marty of Aberdeen, Md., and Vicky Westpfahl of St. Paul; six grandchildren, Joseph, Renee, Rebecca and John Marty and Amanda and Matthew Westpfahl; four brothers, Donald (Mary) Teigen of Edina, Minn., Maynard Teigen of Phillips, Bernard Teigen of St. Paul and Raymond Teigen of Glenwood City; four sisters, Ilene (Leon) Hawkins of Hammond, Imogene "Ginger" (Merle) Spinks and Marlene (Randall) Weiss, both of Hudson, and Geraldine (Kenny) Heifort of Stillwater. Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 6, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City with the Rev. Ralph Thompson officiating. At the service Marian Schmitz was organist. Tina Heifort and Holy Cross handbell ringers also provided music. Burial was in the Glenwood City Cemetery, where pallbearers were Scott Teigen, Merle Spinks, Kenny Heifort, John Marty, Wayne Sagstetter and Jeff McNaughton.
