The former Margaret Christman was born on April 24, 1933 in Benecia, Calif. to John and Margaret (Murray) Christman. She graduated from Vallejo High School in California. She served in the Civil Air Patrol and was a squad leader during World War II. Her squadron assisted in sinking two Japanese subs. Margaret was then employed in the banking business for 26 years. She converted to faith in Jesus Christ through her work with the Salvation Army. She was a long time member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Daly City, Calif. and also the First Baptist Church in New Richmond. Her life touched many people, who found their needs met in unusual ways. Margaret was an accomplished writer and was published in a number of periodicals. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in New Richmond. Her son Rev. Leonard Allen will preside. She is survived by her husband Paul Allen; one son Leonard (Rebekah) Allen; one daughter Doris (LeRoy) Thaemert; three grandchildren, Amber and Michael Thaemert and Jonathan Allen. She was affectionately known as “Punkin” by her siblings, two sisters Dorothy (Jack) Lawton, Cassie Niswonger and one brother, John (Patricia) Christman. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Christman.
