He was a World War II Veteran of the 11th Airborne and a member of the American Legion Post 507 and I.B.E.W. Local 2047. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; sisters, little Margie, Hazel Seim, Dorothy Carlson, and Ella Funke; and brothers, Robert and Willis. He is survived by children, Larry, John, Sally Parent, Bruce, RoxAnne Schlosser, Cynthia Babl, Nancy Hogoboom, Cheri Parent, Randall, and Gene; 22 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ray; sisters, Gert Mielke and Myrtle Judkins; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. at Simonet Funeral Home, Stillwater, Minn., and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Mahtomedi, Minn. Memorials are preferred to the Leukemia Society of America or the American Heart Association.
