Wieser, 85, died Sept. 26, 2002 Jean Marguerite Wieser, 85, of Hudson died Thursday, Sept. 26, at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. She was born in Beloit Aug. 10, 1917, the daughter of Loran and Frances Cain, and graduated from Beloit High School and later attended business college. She was executive secretary for the U.S. Selective Service local draft board No. 62 in Beloit in Rock County. In February 1963 she was promoted and transferred to the local draft board for St. Croix County, at Hudson, located at 108 Walnut St., replacing Isabelle Kronstedt, who moved to California. She held her position until the office was closed some years later. In Hudson and St. Croix County she was familiarly known as "the draft lady." Her main recreation was bowling. She was a member for 45 years of the Wisconsin International Bowling Association and was instrumental in the River Falls Women's Bowing Association changing from the Minnesota affiliation to the Wisconsin group. She also was an avid golfer and a charter member of the Clifton Hollow Golf Club near River Falls. Her other hobbies and interests included sports, gardening, baking, knitting and traveling. While in Beloit she was Elks Lady. She was first married to Glen Corwin Macoy, and they were later divorced. On April 29, 1963, in Lakeland she married Gerald J. Wieser. Surviving is her husband, Gerald Wieser; her daughter, Susan Yvonne Moen of Hudson; three stepchildren, Robert (Diane) Wieser and Patricia Goddard, both of Beloit, and Nancy Wieser of Pennsylvania; and a sister, Arnette Yager of Milwaukee. Preceding her in death were her parents; a half-brother, Merle Cain; and a half-sister, Vera Stordock. A funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Dennis Nelson of Bethel Lutheran Church officiating. Music was provided by Rick and Kris Swanson. A visitation was at 4:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the Bakken-Young Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mann Valley Cemetery, where pallbearers were Jerry Schultz, Jerry Filbert, Harlan Moen, Robert Wieser, Bill Rasmussen, Dan Gregor and Thomas Kuehl.
