Zastrow, 72, died Sept. 17, 2002 Donald Frank Zastrow, 72, of Hudson died unexpectedly of an aneurysm at Hudson Hospital Tuesday, Sept. 17. He was born in Chicago Dec. 29, 1929, the son of Frank and Mary (Conley) Zastrow. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division in Europe with the occupational forces after World War II. He was a member of the Otis K. King Post No. 50 of the American Legion of Hudson. After his honorable discharge from the military, he apprenticed and worked as a printer. On June 11, 1955, he was married to Anne May "Nan" Connolly at Our Lady of Grace Church in Chicago. He moved to Hudson with his family in 1966. At the same time he started his employment in the printing products division of Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company (3M) in St. Paul and continued until his retirement in 1995. Surviving are his wife, Nan; three daughters, Dorothy (Calvin) Hulburt of Taos, N.M., Barbara (Brian) Moelter of River Falls and Donna Marie Zastrow of Hudson; two sons, Donald (Amy) Zastrow of Madison and Patrick (Tiffany) Zastrow of Hudson; eight grandchildren Dominic Zappa, Katie Zappa, Jacci Zappa, Laura Moelter, Ian Zastrow, Gabe Zastrow and Connor Zastrow; and a sister, Dorothy (Charles) Pohl of Chicago. The visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.
