Olson, 79 Phyllis Carol Olson, 79, of Hudson died Tuesday, May 6, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Sidney and Dorothy (Filiatreau) Swanson. She was educated in Minneapolis schools, graduating from Edison School, and then attended the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis School of Business. On Feb. 28, 1942, at the First Baptist Church in Hudson, she was married to Norman M. Olson. She and her husband worked closely together when they owned and operated the Hennepin Finance Company in Minneapolis and later the Casanova Beverage Company in Hudson. An avid golfer and gardener, she also enjoyed playing bridge and received her master’s points. Surviving are her son, Charles Norman “Chuck” (Christine) Olson of Fridley, Minn., and two granddaughters, Kristin and Natalie. Preceding her in death was her husband, Norman M. Olson, in 1989. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hudson with Fr. John Rasmus officiating. At the service Jodell Krause was organist and accompanied vocalist Debbie O’Keefe. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.
