Silko, 87 Helen E. Silko, 87, of Lone Rock, mother of Mary (Rod) Ellner of Hudson, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, in Dodgeville. She was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Austin and Julia (Hegarty) Pruitt and was married Jan. 1, 1944, in Rochester, Minn., to Ben Silko. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1990. Helen retired from the state of Wisconsin, where for a period of time she was personal secretary to Gov. Tony Earl. Surviving besides Mary Ellner are six other children and 13 grandchildren, including Rachel Ellner. A memorial Mass was at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lone Rock. A visitation was the same day from 11 a.m. to the time of the service.
