She is survived by her husband Duane O.; children, Patricia Thornby, Kathleen (Keith) Sand, Duane J. Wright; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, William (JoAnn) Hennessy; sisters, Ilene (Haulis) Simon and Bernice (George) Albert. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Marie Hennessy. Mary was born April 3, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minn. She was raised on a farm in Cylon Township, attended Oakland Country School and graduated from New Richmond High School in 1943. She attended River Falls College and received a bachelor of arts degree. Mary taught at several country schools, St. Mary’s School in New Richmond and New Richmond Elementary School for over 40 years. Mary married Duane O. Wright Sept. 3, 1949. They lived in Minneapolis for a short period of time and bought their home farm in 1951, where she resided for 52 years. Mary enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and baking. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Cullen Crea Hegstrom Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond, and burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Pat Donahue, John Schachtner, Dick Schachtner, Jeff Thornby, Brian Albert, and Dan Albert.
