Giese, 83, died Oct. 13, 2002 Marion E. Giese, 83, of Spooner, and a former resident of Hudson, died Sunday, Oct. 13, in the nursing home unit of the Spooner Health System. She was born in Hudson, Sept. 2, 1919, the daughter of Raymond E. and Ella Marie (Amundson) Cleveland, and graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1937. On Feb. 12, 1944, in Stillwater, Minn., she was married to George A. Miller of Fort Madison, Iowa. After the death of her first husband, in 1956, she later married Garold "Goose" Giese. They lived in St. Paul until moving to Poquettes Lake in the town of Dewey, Rusk County. Garold Giese died April 18, 1985, and she moved to Spooner in 1990. Surviving are her daughter, Gloria (Randy) Thue of Spooner; a brother, David A. Cleveland of Lakewood, Colo.; four nieces and five nephews. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Marjorie Soucy (2001) and Audrey Schwartz (2000), and a brother, Raymond A. Cleveland (1998). In accordance to her wishes, services are private and burial will be in the Spooner Cemetery.
