Hopkins, 28 Katherine "Kate" Elizabeth Hopkins, 28, died unexpectedly in San Francisco, Calif., Sunday, Nov. 24. She was born in Hudson, Oct. 30, 1974, the daughter of Thomas P. and Terily (Potratz) Hopkins. When she was 11 years old, she moved with her family to Columbia, Md., and then to Roswell, Ga., in 1992. She graduated from Lassiter High School and attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. In 1995 she moved to the San Francisco Bay area. She enjoyed reading, music and travel. Preceding her in death were her great-grandparents, Harold E. and Margaret L. (Larson) Krager; her grandfathers, Dr. George E. Hopkins and Richard F. Potratz; and an uncle, Jerry Hopkins. Surviving are her two grandmothers, Nettie R. Hopkins of Ocala, Fla., and Nancy R. Potratz of Hudson; her parents, Thomas and Teri Hopkins, a sister, Anne Hopkins, and a brother, Ben Hopkins, all of Santa Cruz; and a niece and two nephews. A private viewing and cremation took place in Santa Cruz, and burial will be in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson.
