Apel, 72, died Oct. 12, 2002 Allan Irving Apel, 72, of North Hudson died at his home Saturday, Oct. 12. He was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Menomonie, the son of Harold B. and Selma (Schwede) Apel, and graduated from Menomonie High School. On April 15, 1961, in Mason City, Iowa, he was married to Marylyn Marie "Sis" Clymer. He was a retired carpenter and cabinetmaker. His enjoyments included fishing, hunting, woodworking and being with his family. Survivors are his wife, Marylyn; five daughters, Ruth Shattuck of Lindstrom, Minn., Lori Apel (Rod Schmelzer) of Bloomington, Minn., Patti Apel of North Hudson, Sally M. (Daniel) Haggerty of Hammond and Shelly (Timothy) Hollyday of North Hudson; six grandchildren Tom, Robert, Carrie, Muriel, Jessica and Danielle; and a sister, Donna Worrell of Gillette, Wyo. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Harold M. Apel, in 1975. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson with Pastor Fred Golke officiating. Burial was in Willow River Cemetery, where casketbearers were Timothy Hollyday, Rod Schmelzer, Daniel Haggerty, Robert Haggerty, Jessica Haggerty and Carrie Ann Shattuck. Honorary bearers were Thomas Apel, Muriel Haggerty and Danielle Hollyday.
