Johnson, 102 Mabelle Anna Viola Johnson, 102 of Luck, and a former longtime Hudson school teacher, died Saturday, June 7, at the United Pioneer Nursing Home in Luck. She was born Oct. 3, 1900, in Cannon Falls, Minn., the daughter of Herman J. and Hilda (Lewis) Johnson. She received her elementary schooling in Cannon Falls, and after graduating from high school in River Falls she attended the River Falls Normal School (now the University of Wisconsin River Falls). Although she taught outside of Hudson for nearly 10 years, she is well known for her 36 years as third-grade teacher in the Hudson public schools. Earlier in life, she was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge and Hudson Senior Center. She enjoyed reading, traveling, crocheting, sewing and being a member of the Hudson Women’s Club. She was also a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson.. She is survived by nephews Kenneth (Charleene) Johnson of St. Croix Falls and Donald (Diane) Johnson of Minneapolis, and many grand nieces and nephews. Her brother, Ronald, preceded her in death. A memorial service of remembrance will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the United Pioneer Nursing Home, 210 Park Avenue E., in Luck (715-472-2164). Officiating will be Bob Nasvik with pianist Alice Nilsen accompanying vocalist Cheryl Sikorski. Burial will be private.
