Doring, 84 Feb. 8, 1919 - June 7, 2003 Retired dairy farmer, Marvin “Marv” A. Doring of Mankato, Minn., died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at the Mankato Lutheran Home. Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Wayne C. Eichstadt officiating. Burial was in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation was at Mankato Mortuary and at the church. Marvin was born Feb. 8, 1919 to Otto and Martha (Epke) Doring in Star Prairie. He graduated from New Richmond High School in 1937. He moved to the Mankato area in 1941. He married Katherine D. Brown, June 7, 1942 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the church choir, church council and the board of education. Marvin was a 4-H leader and on the Mankato Creamery board. He was active in many sports, enjoyed music and working with wood. Marvin is survived by his wife, Katherine; one daughter, Dawn (Ronald) Melcher of Hugo, Minn.; two sons, Gary (Ursula) Doring of Palm Desert, Calif., Greg (Lori ) of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ursula Steinke of St. Paul; nieces, nephews and cousins.
