Moll of Clear Lake died Thursday, June 5 at his home surrounded with family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernard Charles Moll was born on Sept. 14, 1943 in Pipestone, Minn., the only son of Carl and Mary (LaBrune) Moll. In 1949 Bernard moved with his parents to Forest Township where they operated the family farm. He attended country school and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1962. During this time Bernard participated in wrestling and was active in FFA, receiving a state farmer degree. On April 29, 1967 Bernard was married to Lucille M. Schug at St. John’s Catholic Church in Glenwood City. Together they made their home near his parents and in 1972 they moved to the family farm. He and Lucille also raised two sons, Brian and Eric. In addition to operating his farm, Bernard worked in the foundry at American Hoist in St. Paul, Minn., and later at Friday’s Canning in New Richmond. From 1989 to 2001, he was employed at Sons Tool in Woodville as a punch press operator and factory lead. In October of 2000, he and Lucille moved from Forest to Clear Lake. In his free time, Bernard most enjoyed fishing around the area lakes and took several trips to Canada. He enjoyed watching wrestling, birdwatching, gardening, and taking care of his yard. Bernard also loved to participate in truck pulling competitions around the area and was a member of the Wisconsin Truck Pullers Association. He was a member of the Clear Lake Lion’s Club and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Amery. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Moll. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Moll, Clear Lake; sons, Brian (Katie) Moll, Downing, Eric (Melissa) Moll, Deer Park; four grandchildren, Brett and McKenna Moll, Deer Park, Rebecca and Andrew Moll, Downing; aunts and uncles, Mildred Pulscher, Des Moines, Iowa, Donald (Dorothy) LaBrune, Holland, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Rader, Minneapolis, Minn., Helen (Tom) Jackson, Franklin, Va., Mary (John) Lundell, Maplewood, Minn.; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Marilyn) Schug, Emerald; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, June 10 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Amery, with Fr. John Drummy and Deacon Bud Heiser officiating. Music was provided by St. Joseph’s Funeral Choir. Honorary casketbearers were Troy Lundell and Rick Schmidt. Casketbearers were Bob Lundell, Mike Maes, Dan Lundell, Larry Schug, Kevin Lundell and Robert Swanson. Interment was in Clear Lake Cemetery.
