Peterson, 82 Esther M. Peterson, 82, formerly of Roberts, died Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Baldwin Area Medical Center. She was born Sept. 19, 1920, in the town of Warren, St. Croix County, the daughter of Roy and Ellen (Snicker) Dull. On July 22, 1939, she was married to Vernon Peterson of Hammond. After her marriage she provided extra income for her family by selling chicken eggs to customers in neighboring communities. Later she was a cook at both the JR Ranch in Hudson and at the Hammond Golf Club before she retired. Her greatest joy was visiting and caring for her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Vernon, on July 22, 1939; two brothers, Raymond and Kenneth; a sister, Evelyn; a grandson, Christopher Peterson; four brothers-in-law, Cal Snyder, Mark Peterson, Allen “Bub” Peterson and John Cuniff; and four sisters-in-law, Donna Peterson, Eugenia Snyder, Ardys Peterson and Ruby Dull. Surviving are three daughters, Peg (Ken) Lashley of River Falls, Sandra (Thomas) Gaustad and Nancy Peterson, both of Woodville; three sons, Joseph (Char) Peterson of Hastings, Minn., James (Barb) Peterson of New Richmond and Bill (Colleen) Peterson of Hammond; a brother, Vernon (Viola) Dull of Roberts; a sister-in-law, Lois Cunniff of Cottage Grove, Minn.; 38 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hammond with Fr. Bill Murphy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery where pallbearers were Tim Gaustad, Bryce Docter, Scott Quist, Troy Peterson, Ed Peterson, Jim Peterson Jr. and Jeffrey Peterson.
