Sempf, 61 Thomas Theodore Sempf, 61, of Hudson died at his home Tuesday, Aug. 19. He was born in Minneapolis, Nov. 26, 1941, the son of Theodore G. and Katherine Sempf, and graduated from Glenwood City High School. After finishing high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he earned a bachelor of science degree. Later he received a master of science degree from Winona (Minn.) State University. He first taught in the Clear Lake public schools, then in Ellsworth and finally at St. Croix Central in Hammond, working for a total of 37 years as an educator. He retired in May 2002. During his high school and college years he played football, basketball and baseball and during his teaching career he coached high school football and basketball teams. For 25 years he was a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball official and was a member of Johnnie’s Bar Softball Team in River Falls in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. On Nov. 3, 1989, in New Richmond, he was married to Eileen Ramberg. Survivors are his wife, Eileen Sempf of Hudson; a son, Ryan Thomas Sempf of River Falls; two stepdaughters, Andrea Gregerson of Sartell, Minn., and Nicole Thorie of Roseville, Minn.; a brother, David (Mary) Sempf of River Falls and two nieces, Denise Sempf of River Falls and Nancy Apfelbeck of Sun Prairie. Preceding him in death were his parents, Theodore and Katherine Sempf. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood City.
