Berkholder, 79 Sept. 8, 1923 - Aug. 30, 2003 George H. Berkholder, formerly of New Richmond, died Saturday, Aug. 30 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born in New Richmond Sept. 8, 1923 to George and Marie (Johnson) Berkholder. He married Delphene Johnson Feb. 20, 1946, and together they raised four children. George served his country as a Marine in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Delphene of Eau Claire; three sons, David (Sally) Berkholder of New Richmond, John (Amy) Berkholder of Eau Claire, George Berkholder of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter Susan (William) Walker of Corvallis, Ore.; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept 4 at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond with Paster Larry Jorstad officiating. Organist was Kathy Wettig and vocalist was Jeri Talmage. Interment was in the New Richmond Cemetery.
