She was born Sept. 16, 1906 at Mankato, Minn. to Albert and Hulda Besser. She attended school through eighth grade. She married Palmer Torgerson July 2, 1928. They farmed and she enjoyed cooking and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Palmer; son Marlo; six brothers, August, Alvin, Arthur, Benjamin, Walter and Richard; four sisters, Helen, Kathryn, Alta, and Dora. She is survived by grandchildren, Sue (Carl) Young, Dave Torgerson, Cindy Torgerson, Tim Torgerson; great-grandchildren, Eric LeVasseur, Sean Torgerson, Christopher Torgerson, Robbie Torgerson, Angela Torgerson, Sarah Torgerson; and great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Hailey Torgerson. Visitation was at Cullen-Crea-Hegstrom Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 with Deacon Hugh Mayer conducting a 7 p.m. prayer service. Pallbearers were Carl Young, Eric LeVasseur, Dave Torgerson, Tim Torgerson, Jim Billiet and Bob St.John.
