Zahler Hellen Kathryn Zahler of St. Croix Falls, and formerly of Brooklyn Center, Minn., died at the St. Croix Valley Good Samaritan Center in St. Croix Falls, Thursday, July 3. She was the daughter of Andrew and Hilda (Hjortland) Venta of Minneapolis. She was married Oct. 2, 1948, in Minneapolis to George Kenneth “Jack” Zahler of Hudson. He was the son of George J. & Mame (Ranum) Zahler. For many years they made their home in Brooklyn Center. She was a past president of St. Olaf Residents Auxilliary, a member of Oslo No. 2, Sons of Norway and the North Memorial Auxiliary. Preceding her in death were her husband Jack Zahler in 2001; a son, Kenneth James Zahler in 1978; a brother Arnold Venta; a sister Thelma Thompson and brothers-in-law Robert Thompson and James Kelly. Surviving are a son Gary Arnold Zahler of Dresser; two granddaughters Amanda and Jillian and their mother Jacqui; a sister, Lorraine Kelly of Robbinsdale, Minn., and a brother, Herbert Venta of Danbury.
