Erik in Norway here. I have a problem with finding descendants of the following family. My great great grandfather`s sister was: Berthe Andrine Thorkildsdatter (Torkelson) ,b. 6 Jul 1854 in Torpa ,Nordre Land ,Oppland County ,Norway. She came to USA in 1880 ,and was married in Torpa 31 Oct 1875 to Ole Larsen Mosveen ,born 29 Sep 1850 in Nordsinni ,Nordre Land ,Oppland County. He emigrated to USA 1879. They had 2 daughters before they came to USA: 1 Ingeborg Marie ,born 4 Aug 1876 in Torpa ,and 2 Thea ,born 6 Dec 1878 in Torpa. Ole and his family`s surname in USA was NELSON ,and Ole was named Ole L. Nelson. Don`t know about Berthe ,but I assume it was Bertha. They lived in the town of Wilson ,St. Croix County in 1883. Ole L. Nelson 25 years worked at a sawmill in the census 1880 ,also in Wilson. I`m very interesting in all information about this family and their descendants. Hope to hear from someone. Erik.
The Parent-Rivard connection is part of my linage also, but, my connection is through Emma Rivard (daughter of Narcisse Rivard and Helen Arcand). Emma married Oliver Cloutier and their daughter, Amelia, married Frank (Alphonse) Parent, son of Charles Parent and Eulalie Picard. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that our lines crossed even though they all were in the Somerset area. I do have a copy of the book, SOMERSET 125, which contains information on your family. If you do not have this, perhaps I could copy the pages you are interested in and send them to you. Dorothy
