    2. Scott and Roxanne Munns
    3. Dear St. Croix Researchers, Thanks to Jim Reppe and the New Richmond Preservation Society Heritage Center, the index to "They Built Their City Twice, A History of New Richmond, Wisconsin" by Mary Sather has just been added to the St. Croix site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wistcroi/BuiltCityTwice.htm Their description of the book is as follows: "From the earliest days in 1855 when the small settlement of Fosters Crossing was established - through the 1899 tornado that killed 117 people and leveled the City - into the "war years" - and up to the turn of the most recent century, New Richmond has a well documented past in "They Built Their City Twice." With over 160 photos and well over 200 pages this book is a wealth of information for anyone interested in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The book is well indexed with a cross-reference of all names, places or events mentioned in the book.<P> The author, Mrs. Sather, has a master of arts degree in history and is the Curator of the New Richmond Preservation Society's Heritage Center. With ten historic buildings and over 17,000 cataloged artifacts the Heritage Center is a place where the past is knee deep and you can't help but soak up local history." I hope this book will help someone! Roxanne St. Croix CC

He was born in 1844 in Canada. He was married 3 times. First, in 1862 in Rutland County, Vermont, to Adeline Dutilley. She died in St. Croix County in March, 1884. Later that year he married Adeline's sister, Lucie Dutilley. He was still married to her in 1900, but she died some time before 1910, and in the 1910 U.S. Census, he's living in Seattle, WA, with his third wife, Rose Anne Loranger. I am wondering, though, if Israel P. could be a cousin? Was he of French Canadian descent?

    3. I`m searching for the family of Ole L Nelson and Bertha Nelson. Ole Larsen Mosveen ,born 29 Sep 1850 ,married 31 Oct 1875 to Berthe Andrine Thorkildsdatter Møllerstuen ,born 6 Jul 1854. 2 children before emigrating from Norway (Ole 1879 and Berthe 1880). 1 Ingeborg Marie Nelson ,born 4 Aug 1876 ,and 2 Thea Nelson ,b. 6 Dec1878 ,both born Torpa ,Oppland County,Norway. Does anyone have a possibility to check the Wisconsin birth index for children of Ole and Bertha Nelson? Ole L Nelson lived in Wilson ,St. Croix County 1880 ,and in 1883. I guess they must have had more children after emigrating to USA. They may later have gone to Minnesota (NO ONE knows). This family lost contact with all family in Norway and in USA as far I know. Any information about this family after 1883 is very interesting knowing about. I call it a "problem family" since the name is Nelson ,and it`s so difficult to find the right Nelsons. Erik in Norway.
