Surnames: Wisniewski, Veneski Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UEXBAIB/168.2.1.2.1.2 Message Board Post: My grandfather Stanisl Wisniewski came here in 1896, followed by grandmother Bronislawa and 2 sons Bolek (Benny) and Wladislaw (Wally) in 1898 from Suwalki. They settled in Shamokin PA. I lost them as of the 1920 census. My mother was born there in 1905. I found an Aunt (Anna) and Uncle (Michael) in an orphanage in Emsburg PA in 1920. (Uncle Mike changed his name to Veneski). I think the 1918 flu had something to do with it. My grandmother may have remarried, and I saw an obit listing a sister, Rose, of Bear Gap.
