Marcianna/Marcyanna/Mary was born Abt 1832 and married Jozef Rezmer Bef 1863 in Poland. Jozef came to Chicago in 1894. So far I have found 4 of their 7 children that settled in Chicago: Agnieszka (Rezmer) Urbanski, Thomas Rezmer, Frank Rezmer, Maryanna (Rezmer) Kopkowski. July 1914 Death Cert reads: MARCYANNA REZMER Died 9am at 1450 Blackhawk St, Chicago, Cook Co, IL, (7 months at location) Age 77, Widowed Housewife, 22 yr Chicago, IL Resident (Abt 1892), Father: Piotr Wisniewski. Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Informant: Mary Kopkowski, living at same residence, Cert# 00016281. I do not have any additional Wisniewski information and hope that this posting might find a connection with other Wisniewski links in Chicago. She was also referred to as Pazi. She died ca. 1921, of breast cancer from what I heard. They were married ca.1900 in probably Westmoreland Co., PA. They lived in the Penn and Jeanette areas. They had the following children all born in PA: Mary Wasniewski- born ca. 1900 Frances D. Wasniewski- born ca. 1902 Julia M. Wasniewski- born ca. 1903 John J. Wasniewski- born ca. 1904 Sabina J. The Polish came to Hilliards @ 1879. They had no resident priest so many were buried at St Mary's just 8 miles NW. These towns are just 20 miles south of Grand Rapids. Many of the Polish went to Grand Rapids for work. I have many many Wisniewski names in my database and in the St Stanislaus Cemetery in Hilliards but have not connected any of them with yours. We also have the names Biliski and Marcinek(which I believe is the same as Marciniak.) Janet

Some in my husband's family use the name Sherry. The name Wisniewski has something to do with wine makers, so that is what the ones in this area used. We are in the Baltimore area. I know there are a lot of Wisniewskis in this area , but I never can find any information on them. My father-in-law was James Joseph born in Baltimore 11/27/1914 and his father was John Andrew born in Poland 4/15/1876. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In recent years our family has only been in touch with the family of sister Helen, but there were supposed to be some brothers (Wallace, Joseph, Bernard, Matthew - uncertain about these names) and a sister Stella. According to my GGM's parish marriage records (Walter Podgorski, 1/8/1918, Pittsburgh), she was baptized in Strzygi, Rypin, Plock, Poland. I have not pursued the search yet into the old country. I have not had any luck finding them in either the 1910 or 1920 censuses, despite looking line by line in the Strip, nor have I found them at ellisisland.org. The family lore is that they left Poland because of disagreements with the authorities so perhaps that mistrust carried over to U.S. government record-takers too. Because of the 100 year limitations at the Diocese, I have not had any success finding any siblings with the same parents' names. I'd welcome contact with other potential family members. Thanks
